Following on from the great success of the first picnic and botany session, a second event has been organised for September - great family fun!

Over 50 people, of all ages, came to the picnic event in July in Waterfall Park, Great Ayton. They had great fun exploring the plants and trees growing in the park. Remember you have until the 25th August to comment on the work in the park and make further suggestions by completing the questionnaire available in The Discovery Centre and Thompson’s Hardware.

A second picnic will be held in the park on Sunday 9th September, between 12 noon and 2:00 pm when you can help plant a variety of wildflowers such as primroses, daffodils, iris, marsh marigolds, red campion and wild strawberries. These have been chosen to provide more nectar for pollinators and to brighten up the park.

This free event is organised by Moor Sustainable CIC with funding from Hambleton District Council’s 'Making a Difference Fund' and Great Ayton Parish Council. For further information, contact Caryn Loftus on 01642 723137 or email info@moorsustainable.org.uk.Great family fun!
