The Dark Skies Fringe Festival is great fun for families and enthusiastic stargazers too.

This half-term from 24th October to 2nd November the Dark Skies Fringe Festival 2025 makes it way back to the North York Moors National Park.

In December 2020, the North York Moors National Park was designated International Dark Sky Reserve status.

"The North York Moors is one of only 24 locations in the world to be recognised for pristine, dark skies. We're an International Dark Sky Reserve, awarded by DarkSky (formerly International Dark-Sky Association)." - North York Moors National Park website

Throughout the week there are all sorts of fun and interesting activities happening across the region from the North York Moors to the Yorkshire Dales National Park from evening adventure walks to "Stories of the Stars" and ghost train rides on North Yorkshire Moors Railway to seeing Whitby Abbey illuminated!
