Last year Great Ayton had a record five business nominations - show your support for the hard-working and innovative local businesses by nominating them for the Hambleton Business Awards 2018.

BUSINESS AWARDS LAUNCHED

Hambleton District Council initiative recognises the range and diversity of businesses in the district, their achievements and the achievements of the people who work there.

Nominations opened on 12th March and close on 20th May, with judging running up to the awards ceremony on 3rd July at The Forum in Northallerton.

Anyone can nominate individuals and businesses in the area.

Business Awards 2018 - Criteria

In addition to any general comments you provide the criteria by which your nomination will be judged will include:

How the business or individual demonstrates a close fit to the category chosen

Please demonstrate in your general comments how the business or individual is a good example of the category chosen.

How the business or individual are inspirational

Please state how the business or individual has inspired people to do more.

How the business or individual has a lasting impact

Please state how the business or individual has made a difference and will continue to do so into the future.

How the business or individual has worked in partnership

Please state how the business or individual has worked well with other people or organisations.

Please note that Hambleton District Council and the judging panel reserve the right to change the category if we believe another category is most appropriate. The person nominating the individual will be informed in advance of the awards ceremony.  

The Categories

  • Apprenticeship Champion – for an apprentice funded through Hambleton District Council who has developed most in the role (funded through HDC scheme),
  • Best Customer Service – for the business who puts its customers first,
  • Engaging Young Minds -  for the business most engaged with schools and education in the area,
  • Best BID Business,
  • Most Accessible Business
  • Graduate Champion (funded through HDC scheme),
  • Innovation – for the business demonstrating most innovation in marketing, design, manufacturing or performance of services
  • Hambleton Champion – for the business which has championed Hambleton as a place to do business
  • Vibrant Market Towns Ambassador
