Cycle

Great Ayton is ever popular with cyclists, mountain bikers and bikers!  It provides a great resting spot on route to Helmsley, the east coast, Durham and York.  The village it situated on the National Cycle Network and also provides some great off-road biking adventures!

Cycle Ride of the Month

Local map North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire has a beautiful coastline with lovely villages. It also has the fabulous North Yorkshire Moors with endless Dales. This bike ride started in Great Ayton and first went along the coast through Skinningrove, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Goldsborough with the return through the Moors. The scenery was very picturesque for the whole trip.
